Ron Oberleitner is the President and founder of e-Merge Medical
Technologies™, LLC, a marketing and distribution services
company that provides
differentiated services to launch and market emerging medical
technologies. e-Merge has helped medical device companies such
as Minolta, Stratasys, Stryker, Global MedNet, Millennium and
Doctors Research Group develop relationships with physician
leaders and promote footholds in emerging fields such as Surgery
Innovations, Physician Marketing, Telemedicine, Internet
Services and 3D Imaging. In 2002, Oberleitner started
TalkAutism™, an innovative national communication forum,
database and resource directory service for autism organizations
and families to share information. Oberleitner has been active
in technology as a cofounder and Technical Advisor to the
nonprofit Princeton Autism Technology. He has spoken on ‘autism
telemedicine’ technologies to a variety of audiences including
national autism organizations, representatives of the American
Telemedicine Association, international medical technology
conference, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology
conference, the International Congress of Medical and Care
Compunetics co-sponsored by the International Federation of
Medical and Biological Engineering and the European Union, the
military and several universities. He has also coordinated video
telehealth projects and co-authored selected peer-reviewed
publications, white papers and two books on that subject.
Oberleitner has also been chosen to direct AutismCares, a
disaster relief and recovery effort funded by 21 autism
organizations.
Ron Oberleitner is currently on the Board of Directors of the Idaho
Assistive Technology Project 2005, Chairman of the IEEE
Professional Activities Committee
for Engineers (PACE), has served as Chairperson of
UMDNJ’s Committee to Research Telemedicine for Autism and was
Co-founder and Board Member of NJ Cure Autism Now. Prior to
e-Merge, Oberleitner was a VP of Product Development and
Marketing for Pfizer medical device companies. He has
coordinated multiple projects involving research scientists,
development engineers and has published in various journals
focusing on technology related to autism, telehealth, Health IT
and surgical technologies (see Appendix A). He is the father of
a 13 year old with autism.
