About Us

Caring Technologies, Inc. (CT) is a health, education, and home technology firm dedicated to bringing novel and helpful imaging, communication, and health management solutions important for behavioral disorders and special need communities.  These innovations include BI CaptureTM, a video-based ‘capture and access’ system for recording, annotating and communicating behavior data collected in classroom, home and clinic settings invented at Georgia Tech.  This technology is attracting interest throughout the healthcare and special education industries with its ability to accurately record and convey visual data as a resource for diagnosis, benchmarking, treatment and host of other applications.

CT also provides MyChildsHealthRecord services; specialty Personal and Electronic Health Record system for home, school and health clinics that allows users and their healthcare/education team to archive and share personal health and education information privately and securely.  Special opt-in features and a proprietary faxing module which converts medical histories, lab reports, and other documents into files to share with designated professionals or researchers.   This platform also leverages BI Capture
TM to provide recorded events which can be readily available for annotation, archival and review, facilitating treatment and research. 

CT’s CEO, Ron Oberleitner, whose son has autism, is a successful senior executive formerly from the medical device industry, a nationally recognized disability advocate and founder of TalkAutism.  Mr. Oberleitner is joined by a world-class executive team including Dr. Greg Chotkowski (CCO), Dr. Edward G. Cape (CFO) and Dr. Gregory Abowd (R&D).  CT’s registry and public health information technology is supported by strategic partner Scientific Technologies Corporation with online system architecture, implementation and HIPAA compliance provided by SYNA Intelligence. CT’s corporate office is located in Boise, ID with satellite offices in New York City and Nantucket, MA. 

CT technologies are currently promoted and used in the autism marketplace, where CT licenses TalkAutism (TA) to provide branded Personal Health Record and behavior imaging technologies to the motivated autism health and education marketplaces.  Since 2002, TalkAutism has provided technology services for home and professionals including distance learning platforms, an online interactive resource directory, specialty message boards, and patient/student data services; it is well known, and reaches an average of 2,000 targeted visitors with 30,000 hits a day (as of June, 2006).  Broader   applications including muscular dystrophy, ADHD, Alzheimers, international telehealth, alternative health treatment monitoring, and general baby wellness care are also being developed for their respective marketplaces.

Ron is a widely recognized thought leader in the medical device and autism communities, having successfully brought numerous innovations to market, including the autism community’s reliance on TalkAutism and AutismCares. He is also a leading expert on the use of Health Informatics and Telemedicine for special needs, all of this work in recent years stemming from a successful career at market leading medical device companies.

Gregory is a world renowned computing and video expert at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a former Rhodes Scholar. Through a licensing arrangement with the Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Gregory has been a key contributor in the development of the Behavioral Imaging  technology.
